Overview
Central Services Unit is responsible for cleaning the teaching and learning venues, offices, and ablution facilities; ordering and distributing cleaning materials, stationery, refreshments, and protective clothing for cleaners and other staff; placing and distributing student and staff furniture; coordinating furniture and stationery requests for staff and students and arranging furniture in all venues including graduation ceremonies.

Core Responsibilities
- Cleaning and Hygiene — Maintain cleanliness of lecture halls, lecture rooms, laboratories, offices, common areas, and ablution facilities to agreed standards.
- Procurement and Stock Management — Order, receive, store, and issue cleaning materials and equipment, stationery, refreshments, and protective clothing.
- Furniture Management — Procure, place, distribute, and maintain student and staff furniture; coordinate special requests and venue layouts.
- Venue Setup — Arrange furniture and equipment for lecture rooms, examinations, meetings, conferences, public lectures, seminars, workshops, and graduation ceremonies.
- Hiring out of venues — Providing the invoices and preparing the venue.
- Coordinating administrative support services — Developing and implementing departmental action plans, policies, SOPs; preparing departmental budgets; and providing secretariat services to university committees.
- Mail Service — Delivering and receiving the mails from externals and across campuses.
- Periodic Stock takes — Furniture, stationery, cleaning materials, and refreshments.
- Call centre — Manage telephone services needs including the payment of contract mobile bills for NetOne and monthly airtime from Econet.
- Records Management — Maintain accurate records of inventories, requests, distributions, and service logs.
- Properties and lease management — Viewing properties, negotiating lease agreements, communicating with landlords and payment of rentals.
- Management of AIP houses — Processing of electricity and rentals bills for AIP Houses and providing the secretariat for the Housing Committee.
- Reprographic Unit — Provide reprographic support.
